Hello! I’m Kimberly, a trained professional postpartum doula and birth story writer.
I live in the Des Moines area with my husband, Sam, and our two boys (Jack, 5, and Henry, 2). I studied journalism at Drake University and worked as a writer and editor before starting my postpartum doula business. I’m also a contributor to the Des Moines Mom’s Blog and a member of the Central Iowa Doula Association.
As a postpartum doula, it is my job is to make the transition to parenthood easier by providing physical, emotional and informational support anytime in the first year after a child is born. My role is to support you and your family in your choices, and to provide education and evidence-based information or resources when necessary.
I completed my training through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, in 2019 and I am currently working on certification. You can view my CAPPA profile here.
I’m passionate about helping new parents during this very important transition in their lives. I also believe in the power of helping women to celebrate and process their birth experiences through storytelling.
I am a helper and an advocate by nature, and I am passionate about caring for new moms, new babies and families during the postpartum period. I truly feel this is the work I was meant to do!
