Hello! I’m Kimberly, a certified postpartum doula and birth story writer.
I live in the Des Moines area with my husband, Sam, and our two boys (Jack and Henry). I have a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University and have 15+ years of experience in writing, editing, and marketing. I became passionate about supporting expectant and new families after becoming a mom. I took my postpartum doula training through CAPPA in 2018 and became certified in 2021. You can view my CAPPA profile here.
As a postpartum doula, it is my job to make the transition to parenthood easier by providing physical, emotional, and informational support anytime in the first year after a child is born. My role is to help you and your family around the house, support your choices as new parents, and connect you with evidence-based information or resources to help you when necessary.
I’m passionate about helping new parents during this very important transition in their lives. I also believe in the power of helping women to celebrate and process their birth experiences through storytelling.
I am a helper and an advocate by nature, and I am passionate about caring for new moms, new babies, and families during the postpartum period. I truly feel this is the work I was meant to do. I can’t wait to meet you to talk about how I can support you and your family as you adapt to life with your sweet new baby.
